With enough spines, cut-outs, and embossed stars and planets to thrill even the most jaded child, this ray gun stands out today as a wonderful piece of sculpture. Its hollowed areas emphasize its negative space as much as that which it occupies, lending the whole piece a sense of lightness. The two-tone molding scheme is whimsical, as is its simple clicking mechanism which merely pops a small piece of metal up and down. Hardly terrifying. Nonetheless, marauding aliens may stop and gawk at your stylish piece of weaponry, opening up a path of conversation that ultimately leads to peace without needless bloodshed.
