Doc Atomic's Attic of Astounding Artifacts

Welcome to the Atomic Armory, Doc's collection of vintage toy space guns. From the subtle to the sublime, these pieces of cold-war (and pre-coldwar) sculpture capture both the innocence of childhood imagination and the lingering fears of a generation venturing into a unknown (possibly sinister) future. Colorful, fanciful, but with the promise of lethal intent, these toys are studies in contradiction, and as such, embody the very essence of the times from which they come.

NOTE Listings with exact dates have been verified via catalogue sitings and manufacturer's information. Yes, they are correct—until we find earlier listings, that is.

Doc Atomic would like to thank Joe Knedlhans at the Toy Robot Museum in Adamstown, PA, for his help in establishing the dates for many of these toys.
