Hi-Wheel Robot
Yoshiya, early 1960s
10 inches tall

Though powered by a simple wind up mechanism, this later-edition High-Wheel robot is almost as much fun as his electric brother. Pushing in his antenna activates the toy, which then walks forward as his mouth sparks and the gears in his chest rotate. There's a six-wheeled version of the toy as well, which uses the same body construction as the battery operated robot. With three toys, Yoshiya got a lot of mileage out of the leg molds, especially when you consider that later editions of the company's Planet Robot used them as well.
