Atom Bubble Gun

Flyrite, 1940s
United States

This early, diecast space gun presents a somewhat primitive view of futuristic technology. However, its simplicity adds to its appeal, and invokes not just the future, but the past era from which it came.

The Atom Bubble gun was hand-painted, so a little sloppiness around the rings is common. Doc thinks it adds to the charm.

The toy is dipped into bubble solution, and then air fires from the barrel to inflate the bubbles. We think. No one we've met has seen a working one... But never fear. It's a hefty piece of metal, and if alien invaders do ever land in your backyard, you can always use the Atom Bubble gun to smack 'em over whatever it is that passes for their heads.
